Did you know....Cubs Lose...

... the batter who was the last to hit a home run for the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium in a World Series game could be leading off the first game ever played at new Yankee Stadium? Alfonso Soriano hit a two-run homer with two outs in the fourth inning in Game 2 of the 2003 World Series off Rick Helling, which opened a 6-0 lead. The Yankees won, 6-1.

Soriano would be the leadoff man on Friday for the Cubs when they help the Yankees open their new home ballpark with an exhibition game. --Carrie Muskat (Cubs.com) --------------------------------------------------------------------- The Cubs lost 8-4, with a poor outing by Sean Marshall. David Patton did good after letting in two inherited runs, Gregg has quited critics with his great spring, today Gregg went one inning while striking out 3.

  1. HOW ABOUT THAT BULLPEN!!!???!!!??? I am not that worried about Marshall's outing, but on a good note from him, he had 5 K's. I tell you what, I love this pen, also do the XM guys! I liked the 2-3 with Fukudome.

Could you see a trade this year with the Cubs dealing DLee? I think it is time for Hoffpauir, this isnt fair for him to sit on the bench and wait. I think DLee could be involved in a 3-team trade at the deadline.

    Thoughts?

  2. The Bullpen has the capabilities of being extremely good, especially the back with Gregg, Marmol, and Cotts. Patton scares me a little bit for the reason that he has never made it past high A ball, and i don't know if can hold up. I do think we should offer Colorado a prospect or something in-exchange for Patton.

Dlee wont be traded because of his 13 million annual salary for the next 2 years. He's the best fielder at 1B in MLB, and he will deliver 20+ HR, 90+ RBI's, and .300+ BA. Hoffpauir won't do much better in his first "real" year.

If any of the regulars were to be traded, my guess would be either Fukudome or Harden. I think the Yankees would jump on Chien Ming Wang for Harden and prospect maybe Atkins or Castillo. The Yankees would want a more shut down pitcher then Chien Ming Wang who doesn't strikeout batters.
