Notes..News...Cubs Win....

Reports from Gordon Wittenmyer; The Cubs should have payroll capabilities during mid-season for a trade. The Cubs ownership should be completed well before hand so that the Cubs can add payroll, due to the team's continuously strong revenue sources. Wittenmyer quotes Kenney as saying the Tribune and the Ricketts family are "very close to the terms of their deal," which could be wrapped up in May.

Breaking news: Lou Piniella has announced Thursday that Sean Marshall will be the teams 5th starter.

  1. I am sorry, but I am falling in love with Hoffpauir's play. Can he play any other position than 1B? Could we be seeing a MAJOR trade that involves DLee this trade deadline??

  2. I don't know about a trade of Dlee due to Lee's 13 million dollar annual salary. The Hoff can play 1B and play a bad LF and RF.

  3. I can see Lee getting traded because he is one of the best fielding first baseman and can bat around 300. Trade him to the angels for Figgins and a prospect. move theriot tosecong trade Fontenot. I think it was a right move of what Lou Pinella did today.
