NL MVP, news

Last week I had my AL MVP prediction, now today I will have my NL MVP prediction (I know I said I'd it yesterday, but I wanted to wait until I posted up my new poll.)

My NL MVP prediction is David Wright (picking Albert Pujols is to easy.)

Next Wednesday I will have my Cubs player predictions such as; how many HRs, RBIs, BA, and SB for most of the position players.

New Poll is up!

  2. by the way, in 2003 we drafted Tim Linceum in the 48th round of the draft, do you have any idea why he didn't sign? We wouldn't be looking for pitching if that would have happened.

  3. Thanks Chuck! He didn't sign with the Cubs because we drafted him out of high school, and he wanted to attend college. He also did it to the Indians two years later, but then he signed with the Giants in the following year but was selected 10th overall. Yeah we got snubbed, but if we get Peavy i might overlook that incident.

  5. Well this is what Hendry said at he convention: "I promise you come Opening Day we will have a better team than we did last year." So that means he;s definitely not done. Jake Peavy was briefly discussed. Hendry said because of tampering rules he could not discuss Peavy by name. He talked about the fact he does not like other organizations bringing up his players in possible deals with the media. Hendry went on to say that we would be surprised how much information in the off-season is actually true.

Hendry finished with the fact he is going to keep trying to improve the team. While Hendry did not say, it was implied that the Cubs are still discussing a possible Jake Peavy trade. Later in the interview, Hendry said maybe the Cubs will add a significant guy or maybe they won't but he does not think it would be right without out checking with the new owner before adding a player. Hendry added, "Maybe we can chase a bigger fish." Jim Hendry is not done "tweaking" his roster.

My guess is that ownership will come done and decide that (which I think they will say yes.)

But if you asked me, i'd say he will be a Cub at sometime between now and teh trading deadline. I don't have any other reasons to back it up, im now going on gut.
